Every year I have these grand photography plans… a 365 photography project, a monthly family photo, something about Quigley in scarves (I still might attempt that one), etc., but I usually end up with a big fail. I wasn’t going to attempt something in 2013, but my hubby and I were on a date recently and ended up at our favorite little book store in Capital Hill (I know, we’re wild, aren’t we?). While we were there, Nichole Robertson’s, Paris in Color caught my eye. I was totally inspired to start a color project of my own. I convinced my hubby and good friend (and talented photographer), Jennifer Griffin, to join me. I thought a little accountability might be good for me. We’ve since had some other amazing photographers and friends join us too. We’re taking each month, color by magnificent color. Any medium goes. The only rule is to be sure the color of the month is the subject of your project. We’re sharing our projects (images, collages, art, etc.) at the end of each month via facebook and our blogs. It’s been a fun way to explore the world.

This is my January… in white. February is pink. If you’d like to join us, let me know and I’ll get you added to our group on facebook.

Until next time.

…they were definitely made for walking (and keeping my feet nice and toasty too). Okay, so I’m taking you back a couple of months. Just to warn you, there might be a little (okay, a lot) of that happening on the blog these next couple of weeks. It’s been neglected (poor blog), but playing catch-up should make it a happy place again. So, going back to October and ¬†November, we had such beautiful foliage all around and then a few good wind storms later, piles and piles of it all over the ground. Needless to say, there was some serious raking going on over here. I found myself looking for the most colorful piles to walk through. With the walking we do to and from the boys’ school and around the neighborhood with Quigley, there were lots of fun photo opportunities. Oh, and you’ll notice, I’m in jeans and boots while one of my kiddos is wearing shorts. I think the warmest we got today was 32 degrees and one of my boys was so disappointed because his FAVORITE shorts were dirty. You’d never know these two were once Florida boys! This girl, however, would like to be sitting in a hot bowl of soup most days! Brrrr!

Stay warm friends!

Until next time (which will hopefully be soon).
