This incredible family made me want to change my client policies to the following:

  1. Must be a family of seven.
  2. Must own or know someone who owns a telephone booth.
  3. Must be willing to sit in a row boat in your lawn.
  4. Must be 100% awesome.
Yep, that pretty much sums them up. This was our second attempt at their session, our first was rained out. And, trust me, we tried to chase dry weather. Who knew I’d be dealing with rain in Massachusetts while the sun shined in Seattle. Lucky for us, Mother Nature finally cooperated.

Until next time.

And, the sneak peeks keep coming… Four years ago I photographed this sweet family at their home in Massachusetts. What an honor it was to be asked back to document their lives. I can’t get over how much these kiddos have grown, now 4, 7, 9 and 11. Oh, and they’re just as charming, funny and delightful as ever.

Until next time.

… but definitely still on East Coast time. Oh, it did my heart good being back home in New England and spending four days with my oldest and dearest friend. We found a box of old photos filled with memories from elementary school to post college. Talk about big hair, bad perms, overalls and memories that had us laughing an entire afternoon. Before heading to Massachusetts though, I photographed a dear friend in Seattle. We’ve talked about this photo session for her family for years. When you take a beautiful and fun loving family and mix in some gorgeous summer light, you’ve got yourself a magical little evening. That’s exactly what we had! I was thrilled that we finally made it happen! My sweet friend has been patiently waiting for this sneak peek. Narrowing down just a few favorites was the hardest part, but I have to leave her some surprises. Just looking through their images as me smiling from ear to ear, they truly are one of the sweetest little families I know.

Until next time.

Five things about this sweet couple:

  1. They had me at “hello!” One minute into our chat over the phone and I knew we’d be fast friends.
  2. I’m in love with their dog, Berdy, which they say has obsessive greeting disorder and loves belly rubs.
  3. They are going to be spectacular parents! Their little one is going to be so loved!
  4. They couldn’t be more fun-loving: pillow fights in bed, tug-a-war in the park and driving all over Seattle with me.
  5. Their little one will be here in August and I can’t wait to meet her!

Until next time.

My June… in blue.

For those playing along or interested in joining our color project, the color for July is grey or silver. Any medium goes. The only rule is to be sure the color of the month is the subject of your project. We’re sharing our projects (images, collages, art, etc.) at the end of each month via facebook and our blogs. It’s been a fun way to explore the world.
